Are you considering whether a not a defensive firearm is right for you?
Do you already own a firearm but you are not sure how to use it?
Then this is the ideal class for you.
Whether you are a young home-owner or a senior citizen, this class is the perfect self-defense firearm introduction for you.
This is a special class scheduled for Zion Lutheran Church in Springfield on Saturday, February 22, 2025 from 9 AM to 12 Noon in their Fellowship Center, 4717 Golden Avenue (Farm Road 138).
Our professional, certified instructors will gently and kindly introduce you to the four firearm safety rules, the terminology of firearms and ammunition, how a firearm functions and dealing with malfunctions and misfires. Then you transition to hands-on education in a non-threatening fashion through the use of inert practice handguns under the close guidance of our male and female instructors. Here you will learn how to grip a gun, the correct stance, methods for properly aiming the gun and trigger control.
Before we conclude the class, you are welcome to try our completely safe, smokeless shooting range where you will handle real, functioning Glock semi-automatic handguns that are modified to safely shoot at targets on the smokeless range. This is as close as you can get to going to a real gun range and shooting live ammunition – but without the anxiety or noise.
Due to the introductory and hands-on nature of this class, we generally restrict attendance to no more than 20 students. All students must be 18 years of age or older and a citizen of the USA. We will provide safe, inert practice weapons for you to use during the class. Please do not bring your firearms to this class as you will not be allowed to handle them during the class. Upon completion of the class, you will receive official USCCA certificates for Self-Defense Firearm Basics and Defensive Shooting Fundamentals.
We also offer an excellent book, “Concealed Carry and Home Defense“, that re-enforces what you will learn in class. Attendees of the class may optionally purchase this $35 book for $20 on class day.
